SAFREST Resources, LLC is Hiring an Outpatient Clinician - Hybrid Near Lynchburg, VA

SAFREST Resources has partnered with a passionate behavioral health provider located in Lynchburg, VA. They are seeking an LMHP or LMHP-E, licensed mental health counselor or resident in counseling, for an outpatient, grant-based position.

The Outpatient Clinician (Hybrid) will assess the needs of adolescents and transitional-aged youth OR adults who have a substance use and/or substance use and mental health disorder, use information obtained to develop and implement appropriate treatment approaches and support services, and provide support to the individual through individual, family, and group counseling.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in an applicable human services field and licensure in the State of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
  • One year of relevant program-specific work experience.

Related Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

At least one year of experience providing services (e.g., assessment, supportive-level counseling, and linkage/referral to resources) to adolescents and transitional-aged youth OR adults.

  • Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships.
  • Ability to promote positive, collaborative, and professional working relations among co-workers and representatives in the community.
  • Ability to record data and complete documentation within established expectations and by communicated deadlines.
  • Ability to respond effectively to changes in the work environment in a positive and professional manner.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of evidenced-based practices to include but not limited to; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); emergency interventions; family, group, and individual therapies; psychosocial education; risk assessments; sex offender treatment; substance abuse interventions; etc.
  • Knowledge of community mental health and public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance an individual’s treatment and access to community resources.
  • Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric/medical medications/treatments.
  • Ability to analyze situations accurately and develop appropriate responses or techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in order to facilitate treatment and relay information to others as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to perform clinical interviews in order to obtain information and to formulate appropriate treatment plans.
  • Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holiday, etc.) as required.
  • Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver’s license. May be called upon to travel to worksites, transport clients, provide services to client at other locations. Regular attendance at trainings and company meetings may require travel to sites.
  • Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training; includes both verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as needed.
