Our brand-new veterinary clinic is opening a location in the heart of Midwood, Brooklyn, and we're looking for passionate and skilled veterinary professionals to join our team. The Midwood location was chosen due to the lack of urgent care animal clinics in the area, and we are excited to provide top-notch care to pets in the community.

About the role: 
As a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) at our clinic, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to pets, assisting veterinarians in surgical procedures, performing routine checkups, and educating pet owners on how to keep their pets healthy and happy. You will be encouraged to grow your skill set and will be mentored throughout your career to support your development.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform initial examinations of animals and gather their medical histories.
  • Take vital signs, draw blood, and collect specimens.
  • Provide emergency first aid to animals in need.
  • Assist in research and perform laboratory procedures.
  • Prepare animals and equipment for surgical procedures.
  • Assist veterinarians during surgeries and other medical procedures.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian.
  • Take and process x-rays.
  • Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
  • A current veterinary technician certification or licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) is required.
  • Must be licensed to work in New York City, New York.
  • 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician is ideal.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively educate pet owners.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle emergency situations.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with other staff members.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
Salary and Benefits: ($52,000 – $65,000)
  • Uniforms and jackets provided for a professional appearance and comfort during colder weather.
  • 20 days of paid time off (PTO) per year, which can be used for vacation, sick days, or personal days.
  • Six major holidays are observed each year, during which time the office is closed, and employees can spend time with their loved ones.
