Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Dispatcher. As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation logistics and ensuring the efficient movement of goods. This is a fast-paced position that requires excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate transportation routes for drivers, considering factors such as delivery schedules, traffic conditions, and customer requirements
- Utilize transportation management systems and GPS technology to track the location of vehicles in real-time
- Communicate with drivers to provide instructions, updates, and support throughout their routes
- Monitor driver performance, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety regulations
- Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during transportation operations
- Collaborate with internal teams, including customer service and warehouse personnel, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including driver logs, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance
Experience:
- Previous experience in transportation planning or dispatching is preferred
- Familiarity with freight forwarding or third-party logistics (3PL) operations is a plus
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices
- Proficient in using phone systems and other communication tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
