Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Backup: Maintenance Manager

FLSA: Exempt

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Location: Louisville, KY

SUMMARY:

Responsible for all areas of equipment repairs and preventive maintenance of production equipment. Responsible for supervision of maintenance employees.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

· Assures all equipment is maintained in a condition capable of producing to set production and QA standards

· Conducts weekly maintenance meetings.

· Works with production machine manufacturer’s or material vendor representatives in the plant.

· Oversees the daily activities of the Machine Shop and Parts Room.

· Trains maintenance personnel on all plant equipment.

· Monitor and enforce R. C. Bigelow Safety and Health policies and procedures.

· Interfaces between Maintenance Manager and all mechanics.

· Monitors production floor data collection systems.

Additional Duties

· Provide direction to Maintenance personnel.

· Provide coaching and guidance to maintenance personnel on all 3 shifts.

· Performs periodic reviews of Lockout Plan and update as needed.

· Perform training of maintenance personnel.

· Member of the Plant Management Team.

· Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The candidate must be able to effectively direct personnel in the performance of their work in order to meet both production and maintenance schedules while ensuring work is performed according to set standards and policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of vendors or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, and frequently must work where there are fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock; vibration; wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; and outside weather conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
