Medix is Hiring an Animal Research Associate Near Auxvasse, MO
Responsibilities:
- Effectively handle, restrain, and interact with animals in a consistent, professional, and empathetic manner.
- Contribute to data collection and participate in research projects following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and study protocols.
- Review documentation of tasks completed as part of quality control measures.
- Perform routine procedures including general animal care, health assessments, administering doses, sample processing, etc.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of animal housing, cages, ventilation, and equipment.
- Complete training focused on relevant skills for the role.
- Recognize the significance of work conducted at a contract research organization in relation to human and animal well-being.
- Foster collaborative relationships with other departments and offer support when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with management and colleagues regarding study or animal care updates.
- Uphold professionalism and safety standards in the workplace.
- Education: Preferably holds a BS/BA degree; High School diploma or GED is acceptable. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- AALAS Certification is preferred, or willingness to pursue certification.
- Knowledge of industry-standard data collection practices and adherence to GLP regulatory guidelines is advantageous.
