The Lock Desk & Secondary Specialist will interface across departments and with investors and banks to ensure loans are locked, funded and sold correctly, loans are reconciled, and lock commitments are appropriately hedged. The candidate must be a team player and have an aptitude for customer service. The position requires strong attention to detail, self-initiative and time management, and a friendly and professional interaction with employees, clients, and vendors. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Locking loans, managing pricing concessions, and facilitating lock changes and updates
· Maintaining the company’s product pricing engine
· Selling loans to investors and managing the company’s interest rate risk exposure
· Improving pricing and loan operating systems’ connectivity and flows
· Monitoring hedging reports to ensure interest rate risk is appropriately mitigated
· Overseeing loan settlement, servicing and transfers, as well as ensuring all funds due are received/paid
· Reconciling funded and sold loans and posting entries to the loan operating system and general ledger
· Streamlining and automating accounting and operational processes while improving controls
· Providing outstanding borrower experience by providing outstanding service to our sales team
· Coordinating with and assisting the production, operations, and other departments as necessary
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· 1-3 years’ related experience in a lock desk / secondary role
· Associate or Bachelor’s degree (preferably in accounting/business/finance)
· Expertise in secondary administration in OptimalBlue is a MUST
· Proficient in MS Excel; comfortable leveraging technology
· Detail oriented, dependable, efficient, and self-motivated
· Able to handle competing priorities effectively within established timeframes
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with employees, clients and vendors – must be able to work as part of a team
· Punctual, motivated, positive, and hard working with an ability to embrace change
· This is NOT a remote opportunity. Individuals hired must work out of our Sandy, Utah location
Preferred Skills
· Knowledge and experience with accounting and secondary market mortgage products and pricing
