Position:

As a Clinical Laboratory Technician - Toxicology at Rocky Mountain Laboratories, you will be an integral part of our toxicology department, focusing on sample analysis and result reporting using toxicology analyzers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of our laboratory's toxicology testing capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process human specimen samples (urine/oral fluid) for analysis via toxicology analyzers.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to assigned analytical work; maintain and assist others in maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
  • Ensure regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Read, understand, and follow management system requirements as relevant to responsibilities, including requirements found in Quality Manuals, SOPs, Local Work Instructions, and Method-specific documents.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed daily for quality control and regulatory purposes.
  • Perform drug screening using automated instrumentation (immunoassay).
  • Complete laboratory testing on all incoming samples accurately, efficiently, and promptly, ensuring sample turnaround time goals are met or exceeded.
  • Identify process difficulties and report them along with proposed solutions to the supervisor.
  • Strive to improve the quality of service provided through existing and new technologies.
  • Identify and report all non-conformances and/or out-of-specification results/measurements.
  • Conduct all activities safely and efficiently.
  • Stay up-to-date and compliant with all required and assigned training related to laboratory safety, testing procedures, and equipment maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with other lab technicians as well as other departments as needed.
  • Maintain a high standard of professional conduct and confidentiality concerning patient health information (PHI), HIPAA, and Rocky Mountain Laboratories rules & policies to ensure compliance.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Minimum one year of post-baccalaureate work experience in the specialty of toxicology, in a clinical laboratory possessing a certificate issued under CLIA for performing high-complexity testing for the subspecialty of toxicology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of toxicology techniques and principles.
  • Familiarity with guidelines.
  • Understanding of techniques for sample preparation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with toxicology terminology for working with patient samples.

Ideal Start Date: As soon as possible

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
