Position Description:

Rocky Mountain Laboratories is seeking a highly qualified Accessioning Manager to oversee specimen processing operations. The Accessioning Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of specimens, contributing to the overall success of our laboratory.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of accessioning technicians, ensuring adherence to protocols and maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
• Oversee the processing of specimens, including accessioning, labeling, tracking, and storage, following established procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor workflow and productivity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to optimize efficiency.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate specimen handling and ensure timely delivery of results to clients.
• Provide training and ongoing support to staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
• Maintain inventory levels of supplies and reagents, ensuring adequate stock for daily operations.
• Perform quality control checks and audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Handle escalated issues and resolve conflicts as needed, maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in specimen processing and laboratory management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Medical Technology, Healthcare Administration).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in specimen processing, preferably 5 years.
• Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP).
• Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexible hours based on operational needs.

Starting Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per year
