Crestron is an equal opportunity employer proud of its commitment to Diversity & Inclusion. RESPONSIBILITIESThe responsibilities of the Quality Engineering Intern include elements of Reliability Testing and Metrology. Assigned duties will include but are not limited to:Assisting with executing tests in our Product Reliability Testing lab, and with writing and reviewing test reportsAssisting with test plan development for NPI projectsExecuting benchmarking tests to gather data and assist with developing standard requirements for various reliability testsPerforming updates to standard reliability test report templatesAssisting with documentation of various department standard processesAssisting with creation of built-to-print part inspection plansAssisting with programming and operation of CMM machine for inspection of partsAssisting with execution of various metrology projects, including but not limited to:Color measurement for supplier color process qualification, root cause investigation for production or field issues, new equipment deployment and/or researchLearning the operation of all metrology lab and IQC measurement equipmentAssisting with the planning and execution of Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) in our HALT lab QUALIFICATIONSGeneral RequirementsMust be enrolled in a college or university working toward a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.Must be commutable to and from the Orangeburg, NY area for the duration of the Internship period.Must have permanent, unrestricted work authorization in the United States now and in the future.Technical SkillsAbility to write technical reports with a clear presentation of test data and resultsMust be familiar with basic mechanical engineering theoriesMust possess the ability to effectively analyze and resolve problems - assess a situation, gather data, analyze the data, propose a solutionMust have a minimal familiarity with CAD software (examples are AutoCAD, Creo, Solidworks, IDEAS, or similar programs)Some familiarity with metrology measurement equipment (calipers, height gauges, pin gauges, gauge blocks, etc)Some familiarity with electronic equipment and programmingKnowledge of Microsoft Office programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, VisioAbility to think outside the box and provide creative solutions to engineering problemsSome familiarity with laboratory test equipment (force gauges, torsion machines, etc.) and measurement equipment (calipers, height gauges, etc)Some familiarity with electronic equipment and programmingKnowledge of Microsoft Office programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, VisioAbility to think outside the box and provide creative solutions to engineering problemsOther Skills:Must be responsible, self-motivated, and creativeSolid work ethic and have a desire to produce a quality productStrong communication skills (verbal, written, and listening) with the ability to articulate work at different levels of the organization.Inquisitive individual with a desire to learn, possessing a long-term desire to work in theQuality Engineering space.Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.Positive, personable, and able to work cohesively with others across various divisions.Eager to question and learn different practices and technologies.
