OVERVIEWCrestron Electronics continues to experience rapid growth as we invest in resources and create new opportunities; as a result, we have an exciting opportunity for a Summer 2024 - Intern - Security Analyst. to join our Engineering/Architecture & Design department in Rockleigh, NJ. This role has been designated for a Hybrid work arrangement (in office days: TUE/WED/TH – remote days: MON/FRI). Candidates must be commutable to Rockleigh, NJ.Crestron Interns and Co-Ops can expect to be challenged with meaningful projects and tasks alongside professionals and subject matter experts in the field. Interns and Co-Ops are assigned a dedicated mentor who will be responsible for their development and acclimation to the company. Crestron will also provide a variety of training and networking opportunities to participants in the program, seeking to present participants with a comprehensive experience that enhances technical and non-technical skill sets and to prepare students for their professional careers. Over the past several years, our internship program has led to dozens of full-time offers to program alumni. We are committed to helping participants in the program succeed in their future by providing opportunities for growth and advancement. RESPONSIBILITIESIn this role, the intern will be focused on Governance, Risk and Compliance. The Security Analyst Intern will help to conduct assessments to review and evaluate compliance to security related policies. In addition, the intern will assist in the creation of engineering security policies and standards but are not limited to:Work with stakeholders across the organization (DevOps/InfoSec/Legal) to build engineering security policies and standards.Assist with advising internal and external customers on Crestron’s conformance to security controls via assessments, questionnaires, and general queries.Participate in vulnerability management including triage of reports, collaboration with engineering to assess, and recommendations for mitigation strategies.Help drive remediation activities from planning to closure and working with the Project Management Office (PMO) and development teams to ensure owners deliver agreed solutions within the expected timelines.Assist with tracking and analyzing emerging security trends and regulations and advise on updates to policies and standards. QUALIFICATIONSGeneral RequirementsMust be enrolled in a college or university working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or Computer Science, or closely related fieldExcellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate security compliance and risk concepts to audiences with varying levels of expertise and knowledge.Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines.Ability to work independently, as well as a part of a diverse, distributed team.Familiarity with compliance regulations and security frameworks or the desire to learn compliance regulations and security frameworks (i.e., NIST CSF, SOC 2, ISO 27000) are a plus.Interest in security assessments and vulnerability management a plus.Must be available to work up to 40 hours per week during the entire internship periodMust be commutable to and from the Rockleigh, NJ area for the duration of the internship periodMust have permanent, unrestricted work authorization in the United States now and in the futureTechnical SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Basic knowledge and understanding of network architectures, operating systems, and security protocols.Basic knowledge of ethical hacking, intrusion prevention, and incident response.Basic knowledge cybersecurity techniques and best practices.Ability to conduct security assessments and identify vulnerabilities.Basic knowledge of cloud platforms and their security aspects. Other SkillsMust be responsible, self-motivated, creative, have a solid work ethic and have a desire to produce a quality product.Strong communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening) with the ability to articulate work at different levels of the organization.Strong problem-solving skills.Inquisitive individual with a desire to learn, possessing a long-term desire to work in the Cyber Security field.Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.Positive, personable, and able to work cohesively with other across various divisions.Must have a desire to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
