BMH Equipment LLC is Hiring a Forklift Technician - Team Leader Near Bolingbrook, IL

Role:

The Forklift Technician Team Leader is responsible for developing the culture and skills of junior technicians at BMH. You will coach a team of up to 6 technicians – with skillsets ranging from entry level through to experienced. In conjunction with the Service Manager you will schedule hours and jobs, develop training plans and provide in-depth hands on coaching for the technicians – focused on the development of both their personal (i.e. – their attitude) and technical skill sets.

You will leverage your vast experience and knowledge of forklifts and related material handling equipment to provide high-touch, hands-on training for new and existing team members both onsite at customer locations and at our shop.

This role includes:

- Hourly pay (40 - 45 hours a week)

- Benefits (health, vision, dental, 401(k) w/ match)

- Company vehicle

- Up to $2,500 signing bonus after 90 days of employment

Responsibilities:

You are responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining a positive team culture and a continuous Improvement mindset amongst the team
  • Maintaining positive customer relations and training your team to do the same
  • Following all company operating procedures
  • Developing processes and procedures that ensure you and your team complete all repairs as directed via company procedures and OEM guidelines
  • Communicating with the Service Manager and service team to ensure you and your team are efficiently completing all jobs in a timely manner
  • Traveling to customer sites with junior technicians and assisting in the diagnosis of larger shop jobs

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to train and coach other technicians
  • Troubleshooting- determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Repairing machines or systems using needed tools.
  • Equipment Maintenance- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Equipment Selection- Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do the job.
  • Information Ordering- The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g.., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures mathematical operations).
  • Manual Dexterity- The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Near Vision- The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Multi-limb Coordination- The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
  • Control Precision- The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to wear protective equipment such as goggles, face shield, gloves, and work apron.
  • Frequently involves heavy lifting, pulling (up to 100 pounds) or working in awkward positions or lying on back working beneath truck.
  • Uses trade type tools or hand tools.
  • Typical work hours 7am to 3:30pm with ½ hour lunch break taken between 11:30am and 12:30pm
