Credo Senior Living is Hiring an Activity Coordinator Near Wichita, KS

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of a stimulating activity program encompassing physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual activities. Activity programs may also be performed by Credo Senior Living staff during the activity coordinator’s absence.

REPORTS TO: Director

Tasks

  • Plans, schedules, and conducts activity programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual opportunities and challenges for the residents.
  • Plans and schedules trips and outside activities; arranges for transportation and supervision.
  • Prepares and organizes a calendar of activities. Assists in developing and printing a newsletter that includes articles about past and future activities. Posts and distributes the activity calendar.
  • Meets with each resident upon move-in to introduce the activities program and to learn of resident’s own personal interests and likes/dislikes. Designs events to meet the interests of the residents.
  • Responds creatively to residents’ requests for programs and activities. Designs events to meet the interests of the residents.
  • Works scheduled shift including overtime, scheduled weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts when necessary.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in planning appropriate programs for holidays and special events.
  • Encourages residents to attend the activities and builds enthusiasm for the programs.
  • Participates and assists in marketing and staff functions.
  • All other duties assigned by the Director.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrates an interest in working with a senior population.
  • Demonstrates a warm and outgoing personality.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, such as during evening and weekends for planned activities and events.
  • A high school diploma.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, walk, engage in a full range of motion, lift/carry medium weight (up to 50 lbs.), and engage in light pushing/pulling (up to 60 lbs.). Must have normal vision and hearing (after correction, if needed), and sense of touch.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in the English language necessary to communicate and work effectively with various levels of staff, residents, family members, and the public, and for required written documentation or reports.
