ESY Assistant Teacher, Special Education (Middle School) Job Title: ESY Assistant Teacher, Special Education (Middle School)Location: Boston, OnsitePosition Type: Full-Time Summary of position:The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy. The Manville School, a highly successful and reputable educational program, is seeking an ESY Assistant Teacher in Grades 7-8 for the upcoming extended summer school year (July 1, 2024 – August 1, 2024). As a member of a three-person, multidisciplinary summer classroom team, the ESY Assistant Teacher (Middle School) plans lessons and carries out curriculum instruction, tailored to meet students’ specific learning needs/behavioral profiles. The ESY Assistant Teacher (Middle School) will actively participate in academic instruction and classroom management, while learning and applying effective evidence-based behavior management techniques. Partake in exceptional training and receive mentoring by an experienced Educational Supervisor and a Mentor Special Education Teacher, both of whom ensure the ESY Assistant Teacher (Middle School) is highly successful! The ESY Assistant Teacher (Middle School) will participate in weekly meetings with a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, while engaging in professional development opportunities that will prepare you to work in a school setting as a special education teacher or mental health professional.
