The Carrier Sales Manager will play a key role in our team by leading, monitoring, and training our Carrier Sales team to ensure HTL standards for this role are met throughout the organization. Responsibilities:

  • Lead, grow, develop, and motivate a team of 10-15 Carrier Sales Representatives to successfully execute their responsibilities by utilizing effective communication, organizational, and creativity skills to maximize revenue potential while meeting customer service/operations requirements and organizational goals.
  • Coach and train CSRs on carrier pricing, availability, negotiation strategies, creative problem-solving, industry knowledge, etc.
  • Develop SOPs and ensure their consistent utilization.
  • Verify CSR work by ensuring all database documentation is compliant with both industry standards and HTL’s expectations.
  • Continuously monitor CSR performance by reviewing, updating, and communicating KPI metrics.
  • Mentor and improve performance through personal one on one coaching, sharing guidance on how to perform more effectively in the role.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly updates to Leadership vital to the success of the organization re: challenges, successes, people, processes, etc.
  • Ensure appropriate coverage to staff the team.
  • Assist CSRs in “all-hands-on-deck” situations for hot loads, service failures, etc.
  • Partner with Human Resources on hiring decisions, onboarding, corrective actions, annual performance appraisals, and more.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in the 3PL environment. Proven experience leading and motivating a team of CSRs.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, and/or relevant experience in transportation or related field.
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Office and Teams).
  • Proficient in industry-based software. Strong experience in TAI preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills (i.e., phone, video, email).
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment and tolerate stress.
  • Ability to plan and organize, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 30% between assigned offices.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a huge plus.
