Summary

The Director of Laboratories (North America) plays a key leadership role in guiding a

diverse team of Lab leads and managers within Domino Highvoltage “Test Labs, Tools

& Rentals” division. This position entails a range of responsibilities but not limited to,

such as budgeting, forecasting, expansion, market growth, KPI’s, standards,

compliance, efficient operations, and capital expenditure (CAPEX). Ideal candidates

should possess strong leadership skills and expertise in risk management, safety,

financial management, market growth, compliance, and operational excellence.

Job Duties

• Budgeting, forecasting and CAPEX plans for testing groups.

• Oversee and manage the Test Lab, Tools & Rental department’s operations.

• Business development and market growth for Testing Tools & Rental in all territories.

• Review quality assurance – setting quality standards, maintaining quality of all testing/

repair activities.

• Conduct thorough risk assessments for projects, identifying potential hazards, and

developing risk management plans.

• Be aware of changes and ASTM standards and ensure that Domino procedures are in

compliance with the latest versions.

• Ensure labs stay in compliance with NAIL certifications and certify all new labs once

they become eligible.

• Establish shop maintenance schedules and have managers report.

• Conduct annual performance appraisals for all Test Lab, Tools & Rental department managers.

• Establish KPIs for compliance with company standards for cost control, waste

reduction, quality, and complete and on-time delivery.

• Monitor departmental performance against goals and report numbers to c-suite.

• Oversee and direct Test Lab, Tools & Rental department’s resource and workforce

issues for the organization.

• Work with Inventory Control to set minimum stock levels and monitor inventory turns.

• Maintaining knowledge base on current products, procedures and learning about new

products.

• Where necessary, support marketing efforts such as trade shows, exhibits and other

events.

• Vendor management and selection.

• Work with purchasing on annual contracts for vendors.

• Work with Sales on annual contracts for customers.

• Ensure that all managers adhere to company policies and procedures, and are filing

documentation.

• Perform other duties as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Diploma or MBA.

• Ten years experience in di-electric testing field or product lines.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Knowledge of speaking/writing in Spanish is beneficial.

• Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Must be able to travel globally.
