Preventative Maintenance Technician

Compensation/Hours:
Hourly. Mon-Fri as publicly posted. Additional as needed.
Purpose:
Independently perform in-field equipment Preventative Maintenance by operating a mobile service vehicle and traveling to customer locations. Candidates require a strong work ethic to complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision. The individual will serve as an in-field representative for the dealership to provide service solutions. Communication skills are required to clearly articulate aspects of the work being performed to a customer courteously and effectively.
Responsibilities:
· Performs maintenance tasks on all John Deere equipment at suggested intervals.
· Performs required work quickly and efficiently within standard job times.
· Performs repairs on all makes and models of equipment.
· Inspect machines during routine maintenance to identify any additional repairs noting them on the work order.
· Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.
· Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
· Always maintains a professional appearance and demeanor while on duty and at customer job sites.
· Always promotes and adheres to company policy with emphasis on a team mentality.
· Always promotes customer service throughout the organization.
· Aligns with safety compliance per company policy as well as customer-specific safety compliance if required at customer job sites.
· Maintains a clean work environment and properly cares for company vehicles and specialty tools provided by the company.
· Participates in a positive and relationship-building work environment alongside coworkers in the Service, Sales, and Parts departments.
· Ensures that the company’s reputation and image in the community is consistent with company Core Values.
· Executes other duties as assigned by management.
Skills & Qualifications:
· Basic computer skills to efficiently utilize service and parts support programs.
· Ability to maintain and create accurate and comprehensive service reports on tasks performed during service or repair.
· Maintain a clean driving record to operate company vehicles.
· Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Willingness to participate in company-paid training as required.
· Must possess personal hand and pneumatic tools to perform diagnostic, service, and repair work on heavy equipment.
· Must be self-driven and organized and can perform efficiently while working independently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
