San Antonio Botanical Garden is Hiring an Unarmed Security Officer Near San Antonio, TX
- Education: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Experience: Preferred 1 years work experience in similar role
- Must be able to obtain a Level II Noncommissioned Security License within 30 days of employment
- First Aid, CPR, AED Certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug test
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Physically fit to walk or jog for up to one mile
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must possess a high level of integrity and tact
- Good verbal communication with guests and staff in person and over the radio
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to work any shift to include overnights, weekends and some holidays
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to accept constructive criticism.
- Demonstrate ability to interact with members of a diverse group of staff, volunteers, and members of the public.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to write reports, identify problems and recommend solutions to the Security Manager.
- Must be able to work prioritize tasks in a high-paced environment. Elevated customer service focus and skills
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and reliable
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Work is most frequently performed in all buildings but may be performed in other locations on the grounds of the Botanical Garden.
- Expected to perform under minimum supervision and act independently within the scope of normal duties and responsibilities.
- Work will be performed in areas with frequent high levels of visitation, requiring excellent customer service and professionalism at all times while balancing the need for productivity.
Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the individual.
