Talent Consultant Group is Hiring a Shop Machinist Near Jacksonville, FL
Talent Consultant Group is partnered with an inspection, overhaul, and repair company that is looking to add aManual/Conventional Machine Shop Machinist to their growing team in Jacksonville, FL.
This role applies knowledge of mechanics, shop math, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to set-up and operate a variety of machine shop tools to produce precision parts.
Responsibilities:
·Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of math and instruments such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
·Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
·Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machine work.
·“Machines” referenced are conventional machine shop equipment. The machines include but are not limited to, engine lathes, vertical bore/turret mills & lathes, bridge port style mills and horizontal milling machines.
·Measure, examine, and test completed units for defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
·Read work orders and/or production schedules to determine specifications, such as material to be used, location of cutting lines, and dimension and tolerances.
·Set-up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
·Start and run machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
·Adjust machine speeds, feeds, and actions, according to product and material specifications.
·Operate Forklifts and cranes
·Use of torches, grinders and multiple power tools
·Maintain a clean, safe, working environment.
·Support other areas of the shop as needed.
Qualifications:
·High School Diploma or Equivalent.
·1-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing/repair environment.
·Basic machinist / mechanic tools
·Ability to organize work assignments to ensure efficient operations within the area.
·Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to achieve intended objective.
·Ability to read and use related quality control tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, indicators, and tape measures.
·Good organizational skills
·Ability tostand and walk for extended periods of time and in environments that require frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
·Basic computer skills
