Job Summary:

Baerlocher USA headquartered in Cincinnati, OH is looking for an energetic and passionate Director of Sales for its PVC Additives business unit with expertise working in or with plastic masterbatch companies, compounders, converters, and/or recyclers The role of the Sales Director involves strategic planning, team leadership, performance analysis, and fostering strong customer relationships to drive sales growth and achieve organizational objectives.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development: formulate and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the SBU strategy and goals
  • Leadership and Management: oversee and manage the sales team
  • Sales Planning and Forecasting: work closely with the sales team to create sales plans and forecasts
  • Customer Relationship Management: build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and clients
  • Sales Performance Analysis: monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, such as revenue, conversion rates, sales growth, profitability, and pricing relative to market conditions
  • Market Research and Competitive Analysis: stay informed and report on market trends, industry developments, and competitors
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: develop and manage the sales budget
  • Reporting and Communication: provide regular reports and updates to senior management regarding sales performance, market trends, and key initiatives
  • Collaboration: collaborate cross-functionally to align sales and marketing efforts

  • Good understanding of financial metrics, budgeting, and resource allocation, as well as the ability to align sales strategies with broader business objectives
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level

Education/Relevant Industry Experience:

Minimum:

  • BS in Chemistry, Engineering, Business, or a related degree
  • 5 years of proven experience, meeting or exceeding targets, as a Sales Executive, Sales Manager or Marketing
  • A strong understanding of the PVC and/or plastic additives market; In-depth knowledge of the market dynamics, customer needs and competitive landscape

Strongly Desired:

  • Proficiency with statistics and analytics
  • Proficiency with Voice of Customer data collection and analysis

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting during travel to customer sites
  • Long periods of computer usage
