Job Description
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Maintain records of all outgoing shipments to customers or suppliers
- Checking daily open order reports for shipping packages coming from the inventory department
- Utilize the customers' web-based portal to view shipping customer requirements
- Utilize computers to create packing slips, shipping labels, etc.
- Prepare Domestic and International shipping documents along with accurate mailing labels and ensure that all orders are correctly fulfilled
- File Customs declaration online
- Accurately pack and label products and packages in accordance with specifications
- Prepare shipping documents along with the correct mailing labels and ensure that all orders are correctly fulfilled
- May be required to drive company vehicle to pick up/drop off packages
- Lead the team of Shipping Packers to ensure that goods are being packed properly and follow customers' packaging specifications
- Troubleshoot problematic shipments
- Partner with logistics companies for outgoing and incoming shipments (Quotes, schedule, rate negotiations, etc.)
- Ordering and maintaining packaging material
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and can deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
- Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules
- Skilled with Microsoft Excel, MS Word, Oulook and general analytical data
- Forklift certificate
- Working knowledge of international shipment requirements and proper documentation
- Working knowledge of shipment record keeping and filing
- Bilingual speaking in Spanish is a plus!
- The inventory skillset is a plus!
- Epicor ERP experience is a plus!
- High School Diploma required
- 4 years of similar responsibility in a manufacturing facility is a plus
- Must hold a valid California Driver's license
- Must have a driving record in Good Standing. Must present a current DMV driving record report
- Forklift certification is required
- Prior working knowledge of FedEx, UPS or DHL software is required
