Job Description

We are seeking Teacher's Aides to assist our Lead Child Care Teachers in encouraging the healthy intellectual and psychological growth of the children in our facility. You will assist in teaching and supervising them while also motivating them to use their mental capacities and exercise their imagination and assist with enrollment drives and fundraisers. Experience as an assistant childcare / daycare teacher aide is not required but preferred. Knowledge of child development, flexibility, love for children, strong communication and time management skills are a plus.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 1 year of childcare experience (preferred).
  • Must have reliable attendance and transportation.
  • Ability to work well with team members.
  • Strong communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • CPR and First Aid (willingness to obtain)
  • Background check Required
  • Flexibility to work hours based on the needs of the center.
  • Bilingual a plus, but not required

Desired Skills:

  • Aide lead teachers in teaching and supervising children
  • Help children in feeding, bathing, and changing diapers
  • Aide in long and short term activities to engage children throughout the course of the day
  • Encourage children to take part in class and recreational activities
  • Observe and monitor children to ensure that they are comfortable and intervene following signs of distress
  • Ascertain that classroom environment is in accordance with program goals and philosophies
  • Aide older children in partaking their meals and using the facilities
  • Ascertain the physical and emotional comfort of wards by providing them a safe environment
  • Aide in organizing entertainment classes such as fine arts, music and dance lessons and encourage students to participate
  • Coordinate with daycare center office to procure classroom supplies and educational equipment
  • Handle cleaning and maintenance activities of the classroom and ensure that any hazardous materials are discarded before children arrive
  • Handle emergencies by employing knowledge of First Aid and CPR
  • Prepare breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack

Mandatory Requirement: Must have the ability to lift 40 pounds without restrictions; pass a State and Federal Criminal Check and Child Abuse Registry Check; visually and auditorily supervise children.

Schedule: 8 hour shifts Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.50 - $13.00 per hour
