Responsibilities:
- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for children
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff members
- Monitor and assess the development of each child in the classroom
- Use behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior in the classroom
- Incorporate literacy education into daily activities and lessons
- Plan and lead daily physical education activities for children
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns or updates
Requirements:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or 24 hours of ECE training (Provide ECE training certifications or transcripts)
- Minimum of 6 months of supervised experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting (Provide Employment References)
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and engage students in learning
- Experience working with students who may have special needs or require additional support
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Mandatory Requirement*: Must obtain a negative TB skin test or chest x-ray; obtain a doctor’s statement indicating no evidence of contagious diseases; the ability to lift 40 pounds without restrictions; pass a State and Federal Criminal Check and Child Abuse Registry Check; visually and auditorily supervise children.
Required certification**: CPR/AED First Aid, Medication Administration Management, Approved training in supporting breastfeeding practices.
