GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION Canes Midstream is a private equity backed midstream oil and gas company with assets in the prolific Permian Basin Canes Midstream operates the largest private greenfield gathering and processing system in the Southern Midland Basin The Company is experiencing significant growth and seeking a Plant Accountant The Plant Accountant is generally responsible for the full cycle plant settlement process including working with producers customers and internal parties to provide the monthly invoicing and journal entries associated with plant settlement The Plant Accountant must continually strive to maintain the highest standards for excellence leadership and professionalism while supporting the policies goals and objectives of Canes Midstream ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with settlement through gas plant allocation system WaterfieldGenerate monthly statements including imbalancecashouts producer settlements margin tie outs and downstream sales invoicing for reviewPrepare monthly accruals and journal entry uploads to be approved through OGSYSHelp to reconcile accounts on a monthly basisTrack Producer and Customer ARAPHandle the daily crude volume and allocations; along with final settlementsAnalyze volumetric and financial resultstrends and explain variancesWork with Director of Plant Accounting for periodic contract audits and implementationCommunicate with operations business development and external parties that are critical to perform job responsibilitiesMeet all critical closing deadlinesPerform any other related duties as requested or assigned by supervisorQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill andor abilityies required Plant and gas balancing knowledge requiredStrong knowledge of accounting transactions related to gas processing plants Ability to communicate and interact well with other departmentsExcellent communication technology and analytical skillsTeam player who works well with others both within and outside the organizationEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Accounting undergraduate degree requiredWaterfield system experience a plusOGSYS system experience a plusProficient in Excel including pivot table usagePHYSICAL ACTIVITIES The following physical activities described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions and expectations Physical requirements of this position are Light or sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time the job is rated for light work May include stooping kneeling repetitive keyboard work feeling talking hearing light lifting The visual acuity requirements including color depth perception and field vision for this position include The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects small parts andor operation of machines including inspection ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS The following work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of this job Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions While performing the functions of this job the employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
