Women's Health Partners is Hiring a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Near Summerville, SC

Responsibilities and Duties:

Responsible for medical billing department duties and staff to ensure billing and coding compliance as well as maintaining revenue cycle

Performs outpatient/office billing for assigned providers and/or practices

Review claims to ensure they are accurate and represent the level of care provided

Audits clinical documentation and coded data to validate documentation supports services rendered for reimbursement and reporting purposes

Ensures codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with government and insurance regulations

Identifies discrepancies, potential quality of care, and billing issues

Knowledge of payer rules, regulations, contracts, and any credentialing needs for all commercial insurances, Medicare, and Medicaid

Researches, analyzes, recommends, and facilitates plan of action to correct discrepancies and prevent future coding errors

Effectively handles and manages denials and appeals in a timely manner in accordance with payer guidelines

Communicates with providers and staff regarding coding and chart documentation

Ability to handle outstanding collections and collection agency payments

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certification Preferred

Experience in Outpatient/OBGYN coding/billing preferred but not required

Electronic medical record (EMR) experience required

Excellent customer service skills

Excellent computer skills

High level of professionalism

Self-motivated Organized and efficient

Understanding CPT/ HCPCS and ICD - 10 codes
