Position Description

This position is the lead worker performing manual and/or clerical work in related area. Work may involve strenuous physical activity and/or exposure to the outdoors. May supervise subordinate employees. Work is performed under general supervision and is evaluated through observation and results obtained.

Major/Essential Functions

* Performs Audits on OS1 buildings & facilities.

* Checks for compliance standards, and scores buildings accordingly.

* Communicates with Senior/Building Leads and/or Supervisors.

* Recommends changes, additions, training to management for OS1 buildings/facilities.

* Leads and assists with OS1 training events for all employees.

* Prepares training area coordinates with Supervisor to track and recommend training for custodial employees.

* Demonstrates equipment and proper training including safety aspects, proper use, and OS1 standards & practices in buildings/facilities.

* On a rotational schedule, inspects Custodial Fleet vehicles for cleanliness, usage, and reports any vehicle issues to management.

* Takes vehicles (on occasion) to wash.

* Serves as a backup to ordering supplies and works closely with Lead Attendant to ensure Custodial Warehouse is properly stocked and implements min/max levels within Custodial Warehouse.

* Assists the Unit Manager & Assistant Director with OS1 implementation within buildings/facilities. Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

* Performs all duties of a custodial day porter on an as-needed basis.

* Must maintain Driver Approval and good driving record.

* Will serve as a transporter as needed.

Required Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent plus three years experience. May require a valid driver's license, with good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

* Possess a valid Texas driver's license and be insurable through the University Insurance to operate university vehicles.

* Excellent analytical and organization skills.

* Teaching/training experience.

* Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate data.

* Excellent analytical and organization skills.

* Strong written and oral communication skills.

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and TMA.

Pay Statement

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.
