THE ARC JACKSONVILLE INC is Hiring a Mental Health Practitioner Near Jacksonville, FL

The Arc Jacksonville is seeking two full-time Mental Health Practitioner positions to deliver mental health services in our Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program. Clients who participate in PSR activities are dually diagnosed with IDD and mental health. Location of services will be at either our Achievement & Enrichment Center, Downtown campus, the Village or our On Campus Transition program. As a PSR Practitioner, you will be responsible for coordinating and leading group activities that focus on educating individuals in various areas, such as social skills, vocational skills, support systems, and independent living skills. The role also involves addressing individuals' mental health needs. We are seeking candidates with strong attention to detail, creativity, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in computer skills is crucial for completing program documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with clients to assess their strengths, weakness, and recovery goals.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that focus on psychosocial rehabilitation recovery. Set measureable objectives and regularly review progress with clients to make necessary adjustments to the treatment plan.
  • Document outcomes for each person on a daily and monthly basis, with references to the status of the person’s mental health, use of coping skills and staff member’s actions to help accomplish treatment goals.
  • Develop a weekly Group Therapy Plan on topics that addresses issues related to the treatment goals of client’s in attendance and implement this Plan in a manner that encourages group discussions and acquisition of needed skills. Document the topic, level of participation and significant information shared by each individual attending the session.
  • Develop and present instructional classes in coping and/or life management skills that will benefit residents receiving services.
  • Foster a safe and empathetic therapeutic relationship that promotes trust and open communication.
  • Participate in any required trainings on mental health issues.
  • Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of client assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related field in social services.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, positive interpersonal skills, effective goal setting and implementation, creative and effective problem-solving skills. Effective collaboration and teamwork.
  • Ability to perform all responsibilities independently, without direct supervision.
  • Must have a valid Florida driver license and a good driving record. Must be willing and able to drive agency vehicles. This position will require driving residents to community activities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
