OVERVIEW:
Responsible for prioritizing, planning and overseeing the completion of production orders to satisfy demand requirements on time and on budget. Manages day to day activities ensuring safe production of quality products. The Production Manager will operate out of the manufacturing facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and manage the master production schedule to ensure that production objectives and deadlines are met.
• Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data to maximize the manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
• Develop and optimize Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOMs) and ensure their alignment with design models, drawings and specifications.
• Design and implement detailed production routings that outline step-by-step processes and timelines for each component or assembly within the manufacturing line.
• Engage in improving manufacturing process and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and increased efficiency by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment as needed.
• Manage manufacturing work instructions and SOP’s ensuring they are accurate to the process being performed.
• Implement continuous improvement strategies in production processes, reducing waste and increasing efficiency.
• Direct Production Supervisors on day-to-day production activities ensuring completion of manufacturing activities as scheduled and within budget.
• Manage production staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating employee performance.
• Ensure in process quality standards are being met; random daily inspection of workmanship offering coaching and training when needed.
• Promote a culture of safety and compliance with all workplace safety regulations and practices.
• Monitor accuracy of time reporting and correcting as needed.
• Ensure all production order documents are accurate and complete.
• Ensure documented training is completed as required and is up to date.
• Seek to improve existing standards and procedures to support continuous improvement within the department
• Collaborate with SCM and production team members on material needs validating requests and engaging SCM when opportunities for improvement arise.
• Manage WIP inventory locations, accuracy, and accounting.
• Prepare and present regular reports on production metrics, including efficiency, product quality, and inventory levels.
• Liaise with senior management to make decisions regarding operational activities and strategic goals.
• Maintain a Lean Thinking and Workplace Organization compliance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position will be working primarily in Manufacturing. Work station may be located on the Production Floor with a significant amount of time walking the internal building and external grounds. Environment is fast paced with ever changing priorities. Environment is one of innovation and continuous improvement.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:
This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Director

LOCATION:
Rex Moore facilities and offices are located in Sacramento, CA.

COMPENSATION:
Rex Moore pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee’s knowledge, experience and skill level.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• 5 years experience in a Manufacturing and Assembly environment.
• Must be well versed in Lean Thinking and Continuous Improvement.
• Must have good understanding of manufacturing procedures and practices
• Experience with lean manufacturing
• Electrical experience is a plus
• Understanding of labor budgets, KPI’s, and efficiency reporting
• Excellent communication skills with ability to coach and mentor
• Microsoft AX 2012 experience is a plus
