River Barrel Distributing is Hiring a Front of House Manager - Buoy Beer Near Astoria, OR

The FOH Manager oversees the daily operations of the Front of House at the Buoy Beer Restaurant (Food Hub). They report to the Hospitality Director and are supported by FOH Leads. They interview new candidates, train our staff, and coach/ mentor them on a continuous basis. They assist the Hospitality Director with special projects, group training, and on-going development.

Job Duties include (but not limited to):

  • Perform daily Manager duties including: open and close the restaurant, update items in the POS system, hold pre-shift meetings, assist staff wherever needed, be aware of and continually work with team on staffing needs, breaks, end of shift duties, etc.
  • Train, coach and develop our FOH team
  • Manage beverage and supply inventory
  • Ensure daily opening and closing tasks are performed
  • With the help of the Hosp. Director and HR create/ update SOP’s, training manuals, and Policies & Procedures
  • Follow policies and procedures and hold staff accountable
  • Participate and present in monthly FOH meetings, Safety meetings, and other staff meetings as needed
  • Drive safety, efficiency, and sustainability with our team and lead by example
  • Be present on the floor and be able to anticipate the needs of staff and customers
  • Seek out and take ownership of additional manager duties as appropriate
  • Assist the BOH Manager and Hosp. Director as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree preferred and/or completed business courses
  • At least one year experience managing employees, including coaching, mentoring, and handling employee relations
  • At least four years experience as a Lead Bartender and/or Lead Server in a high-volume restaurant. Restaurant management experience strongly preferred
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to look at the big picture and connect with customers and staff alike
  • Previous experience managing inventory/ ordering JIT
  • Comfortable providing constructive feedback to staff and delivering one-on-one coaching and performance reviews
  • Must be a team player and be able to collaborate and communicate well with the management team and staff
  • Able to wear multiple hats and easily switch back and forth from office projects to handling staff or customer issues
  • Strong retail math skills and attention to detail required
  • Must be able to perform physical work, including prolonged standing, walking, bending, and carrying flat and glassware. Repeated moving and lifting of kegs and cases
  • Must be comfortable working in crowded, fast-paced environments
  • Proficient in MS Office tools (E-mail, Excel, Word, etc.), Adobe Acrobat, and web-based tools
  • Familiarity with Union POS is a plus
  • Familiar with Oregon liquor laws and regulations
  • Obtain an OLCC server permit and Oregon food handler card
  • Strong alignment to the company’s culture and values and desire to grow with the company

Compensation:

  • Competitive pay based on experience - $50,000 opportunity for bonuses
