Old Republic National Title Insurance Company is Hiring a Remote Mid-South Agency Sales Representative

EASTERN TITLE DIVISION Job Description: The successful candidate for this position will coordinate, manage, and develop a network of independent agents within an assigned area by providing escrow, title, accounting and marketing support to existing and potential agents. In order to be successful in this position, you will be a self-driven business development professional who seeks every opportunity to capture new business and grow revenue through in-person meetings and presentations within the assigned territory. This is a high-travel position within an assigned territory which may include a significant amount of after-hour activity associated with business development. This position is based in South Carolina and includes regular auto travel to agency locations. Expect 1-2 days per week in your home office and 1-2 days per month in the state office located in Columbia, South Carolina. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Existing Agency Network Actively and consistently conduct (at a minimum) monthly visits to assigned agents and prospects to grow revenue and promote Old Republic’s products, services, staff, education, and training. Daily assess any potential risk to Old Republic from agents’ operations or activities and, if needed, alert management immediately. Within the boundaries of applicable regulations, assist the agents in their marketing efforts to obtain business from realtors, lenders, and builders in the local, regional and national markets. Monitor agents’ remittance levels and seek to maximize Old Republic’s percentage of business. Monitor required underwriting standards including, but not limited to, timely remittance, payment, approval of excess limit and matters determined during audits. Prospective Agents Develop a list of prospective agents to determine their possible level of remittances, as well as their ability to be a quality agent. Call on prospective agents and represent Old Republic in a professional manner. Follow up with the prospective agents(s) with additional information or to obtain the agency application. General Duties Professionally interact with all inter-company departments and utilize our resources to assist agents in growing their business and our revenue. Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships. Be able to attend Old Republic and industry-related meetings and functions after hours. At a minimum, the ability to work from 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, without interruption. Attend and participate in educational opportunities as provided by Old Republic and/or other state associations or related industries. Promote Old Republic and the industry by presenting yourself in a professional manner while in the office and in the local community. Regular consistent attendance is required, that could include attendance at after hour events. Ability to accept supervision and coaching. Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional collaborative working relationships. Must be able to get along with others, i.e., peers, supervisors, outside customers, and vendors. Ability to communicate successfully and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email, phone and in person. Actively participate in ongoing sales training. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Must be able to work independent from direct supervision, as the majority of the time will be working away from the office. Ability to work successfully in team environments. Proficiency with agency data base system, Microsoft Outlook and others, as needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Sound time and territory management skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; includes internal and external customer groups. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Overnight business travel by air and/or automobile, is required, at a minimum, 50% of the time. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance is required. Ability to work with confidential information. Ability to perform under pressure and be flexible with disruptions throughout the workday. Repetitive and continual typing motion is required.
