Pay Range: $33.96-$50.94 per hour

Sign on bonus up to $3,000 (pro-rated for part-time positions), payable after 90 days of continued service

To direct, coordinate and participate in operational, personnel and patient care functions of the
hospital.

• Coordinates day-to-day staffing activities including analysis of workload management.
• Evaluates scheduling and staffing needs. Provides adequate staffing while maintaining a strong commitment to budgetary guidelines.
• Gathers statistical information as directed by the Directors of Nursing and Vice President of Nursing.
• Identifies and communicates problematic issues to appropriate persons and assists with solutions as necessary.
• Interprets and implements hospital and nursing department policies to patient, visitor, medical staff and hospital staff. Evaluates policies and procedures and recommends revisions.
• Maintains/updates changes to schedule in API.
• Monitors staffing levels of patient care areas. Replaces and/or rotates staff to cover activity level, census and vacancies.
• Monitors the progress of staff orientation on designated shift and assists as necessary.
• Provides drugs, supplies and equipment and obtains medical records in the absence of other departments.
• Assists with patient care activities and transporting of patients when necessary.
• Responds to emergency and routine pages. Coordinates hospital fire and disaster plans on designated shift. Critiques Dr. Heart codes.
• Serves as a resource person for problems and questions from nursing and hospital staff.
• Assists with Advance Directive, HIV Counseling, etc.
• Supervises activities and evaluates performance of nursing personnel on designated shift. Makes routine rounds to nursing areas at least two time per shift.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with people.
• Demonstrates expertise in leadership and management skills.
• Performs other related duties as assigned
