Summary
Completes pre-admission screening and initial RUG assessment prior to acceptance to the unit. Communicates with inter-disciplinary team members in making admission decisions. Provides pre-certification information and insurance authorization when required. Provides on-going education to facility personnel on proper RUG timing and placement. Establishes and maintains good working relationships with referral sources. Works closely with the Business Office to determine Medicare eligibility prior to admission. Assesses and coordinates admissions for the Skilled Nursing Facility. Fosters an environment conducive to resident/family satisfaction by direct and indirect interaction with resident, family, physician, and referral sources. May be assigned other duties as appropriate.
