Job Description Summary:

Responsibilities will include the complete oversight of projects to ensure final outcomes are positive financially and customers are satisfied which will enable the Operations department to meet and exceed goals relative to gross margin and repeat business. This requires total engagement in electrical projects from time of award until full close-out and will encompass several areas of responsibility including financial, planning, document control, tracking, analysis, and production.

This position is a leadership role requiring the ongoing analysis and improvement of existing business processes and procedures; always looking for opportunities to improve the system, generate efficiencies, capture savings or implement new solutions. You will be required to interact and communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, it is expected that this is done cooperatively, with good faith, and in alignment with the LEI core values. Leaders are expected to step in and help solve problems in any department, with any individual, always eager to train, mentor or coach others as well as pursue individual growth and development.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities (Other Duties May Be Assigned to Meet Business Needs):

Integration Management (I):

 Review, interpret and analyze contract documents, plans, specifications and schedules

 Review, interpret and analyze estimates, proposals, projections, phasing and project

strategy

 Perform site visits to determine existing conditions and understand required resources

 Ensure that a control takeoff is completed for all labor, material and equipment packages

 Conduct initial project team meeting to determine deliverables and responsibilities for team

 Establish, document and communicate project strategies and plans ensuring alignment

 Oversee and approve job setup plans to ensure resources and logistics are properly

considered

 Ensure that all required internal and external project documentation is completed

 Prepare project budgets and schedules, disseminating information to appropriate parties

 Develop and implement field labor and productivity tracking systems for use on the project

 Review contract documents in detail and assist other team members with interpretation

 Ensure compliance with local AHJ or other agencies obtaining all required permits or

licenses

Scope Management (II):

 Oversee the development of submittals from subcontractors/vendors reviewing for

compliance

 Manage submittal process and logs to ensure all required items are approved and released

 Administer the construction contract and related documents for the entire project

 Conduct periodic on-site observations of work and compare results to plans and budgets

 Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to resolve problems

 Direct team members (internal and external) at all levels and all times of contract execution

 Prepare Change Order Requests and manage the process promptly and accurately

 Update and maintain a current budget and schedule of values for approved change orders

 Review all approved change orders and scope changes with necessary team members

 Ensure As-builts and other documents are maintained and posted weekly with RFI’s or

ASI’s

Time Management (III):

 Generate, manage and update the project schedule and allocated resources as necessary

 Review short term look ahead schedules with Field Supervisor and General Superintendent

 Ensure all task for self and team are completed on time and prioritized correctly

 Establish deadlines and follow up on all delegated responsibilities

Cost Management (IV):

 Review the work breakdown structure from the take-off to create the project budget

 Develop, for approval, the original project budget and schedule of values

 Review and analyze the percent complete monthly based on a project assessment with

Field Supervisor and General Superintendent, compared against schedule, actual cost and

budget

 Develop monthly billing worksheets to achieve positive cash flow and 10% overbillings

 Ensure all documentation and forms required by General Contractor are submitted

 Monitor budget and update projected final costs on a monthly basis

 Be responsible for all financial transactions of the project insuring attainment of gross

margin

 Verification of field labor and time keeping

Quality Management (V):

 Organize and conduct project status meetings discussing all open project items and issues

 Ensure that accurate and detailed meeting minutes are kept by Project Coordinator

 Review, manage and ensure all project logs are kept current and accurate always

 Review, manage and ensure all internal and external punchlists are completed timely

 Ensure all required testing and reporting is completed and documented correctly

Human Resources Management (VI):

 Effectively motivate and lead all personnel in alignment with LEI core values

 Work with General Superintendent to remedy all human resource issues of field personnel

Communications Management (VII):

 Monitor and ensure completion of daily field reports and logs

 Monitor and ensure all project correspondence is tracked and routed appropriately

 Establish and implement communication procedures and standards for all team members

 Manage job closeout functions including O & M Manuals and Warranty

Risk Management (VIII):

 Review all safety inspections and implement corrective actions as required

 Organize any special training required for the project

 Ensure that an accurate SDS book is maintained for the project

 Review job site for OSHA compliance and enforce all safety policies

 Monitor and ensure safety meetings are conducted and documented by the Field

Supervisor

Procurement Management (IX):

 Issue all Subcontracts and Specialty PO’s to ensure conformance with contract documents

 Direct, schedule and coordinate subcontractors and manage change orders

 Review and approve all subcontractor pay applications

 Review Material Requisitions for compliance with contract documents and production

 Review, approve, negotiate and procure large commodity buy outs

 Approve all major material releases and ensure tracking is adequate

 Oversee the procurement of miscellaneous materials to maintain field productivity

 Ensure that material is delivered and received as expected

Qualifications and Requirements:

 10 years of successful electrical operations experience on projects up to $10 million

required

 Excellent analytical and quantitative skills required

 Communication and presentation skills are essential (written and oral)

 Self-directed/motivated and entrepreneurial spirit in dealing with day-to-day tasks or

problems

 Flexible, adaptive and capable of multi-tasking

 Capable of being accountable for actions and decisions of self and team

 Friendly, personable and of high character, spending a substantial amount of time with

clients

 Expert knowledge of electrical systems, labor and material rates

 Knowledge of computer systems, specifically Accubid, Viewpoint and MS Office

 MVR that meets LEI’s insurance company’s requirements
