Laboratory Assistant

Location: ArcWear Division – Louisville, KY

About the Job

As Laboratory Assistant you will work with a team of Laboratory Assistants and Technicians on client projects involving a variety of textile and PPE testing methods, primarily focusing on flame, thermal, and physical protection. Successful candidates will be presented with an opportunity to grow into broader responsibilities beyond the testing lab.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Textiles or Textile Engineering is Preferred (or related technical/scientific field).
0-2 years of related practical work experience.
Experience in an ISO 17025-accredited testing laboratory is a plus.
Strong attention to detail is a must.
Familiarity with textiles or PPE testing is a plus.
Familiarity with helmet testing is a plus.
Familiarity with footwear testing is a plus.
High level of integrity.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e. without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future)

Primary Responsibilities May Include:

Preparing, conditioning, and testing various types of PPE specimens
Technician duties—performing standardized textile testing as needed (including flammability testing, cut testing, abrasion etc.)
Preparing shipments
Actively works within the ArcWear/Kinectrics Quality Management System to produce reliable, precise data and maintain accurate records
Assisting with special research projects as needed
Some Project Management tasks may be assigned
Other tasks as assigned
