Job Summary: Leads our lab and related teams to provide consistent, productive, and globalized laboratory operations, and scientifically valid data for our engineers and their clients. Includes setting a vision for our labs with senior leadership, executing on that vision, and aligning and setting new lab standards for equipment, procedures, systems, and workflow with support from Technology, Hardware, and Software staff.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Head of our Global Laboratory Team responsible for executing on our vision for our global laboratory operations.
• Leads various sub-groups related to laboratory operations development, alignment, and continual improvement.
• Ensures operations are deployed to provide scientific accuracy and predicable scheduling while maximizing resource capacity.
• Develop, deploy, and improve workflow best practices.
• Manage deployment of new equipment and software.
• Provide recommendations on high level staffing/skills mix, working together with leads for Global Operations and Talent (Training, Recruiting).
• Works with Global HSE lead to ensure HSE standards are deployed and sustained.
• Ensures we are meeting quality standards through internal audits, method repeatability studies, and error analysis.

• Must work well with wide range of people/skills: technicians, engineers, hardware/software developers, project managers, and company management
• Must be able to design and defend standards for new equipment, test methods and repair certification
• Must have up-to-date knowledge of external standards in relevant areas (ASTM, ISO, etc.)
• Proficient with statistical analyses such as R&R studies and Design of Experiments
• Experience with statistics software packages such as R Studio, JMP, STATA, or others
• Must be able to compile data from different sources to produce relevant analysis
• Must have some calibration, laboratory-standard, and quantitative analysis knowledge

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Scientific field
• Minimum of 3 (three) years of experience with laboratory management (systems and people)
• Experience with laboratory testing
• Experience with powder and/or bulk solids test equipment or processing
• Experience deploying systems (e.g. workflow, LIMS) and hardware (e.g. new testers)
• Experience with quality systems

Other Requirements:

• Days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work are typically between 8:30 a – 5 p, or as approved by supervisor. This position periodically requires additional hours beyond a 40-hour work week.
• Some travel (4-6x per year), such as engaging with other Jenike offices (US and abroad)
• Ability to perform limited testing for first-hand experience with equipment and test methods, including deployment and troubleshooting.
• Occasional lifting and other physical movement, respirator & personal protective equipment use
