Jenike & Johanson is Hiring an IT Specialist Near Tyngsboro, MA

Location: Tyngsboro, Massachusetts

Department: Technology

Classification: Exempt – Not Eligible for Overtime

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure software and computer systems.
  • Manage domestic and global network systems, including cyber and physical security, Mac & Windows, firewalls, VPN, servers, OKTA, and cloud services.
  • Train users on phishing and cyber security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues.
  • MDM (mobile device management)
  • Assist users with computer related technical problems.
  • Procure hardware and software, including software licensing. Manage certificates and ensure seamless, ease of operations for all users.
  • Plan for obsolescence of hardware and software, growth, and new technology.
  • Maintain list of computer equipment and status (i.e. software updates, etc.)
  • Coordinate with corporate IT for updates of shared resources.
  • Maintain system backups and ensure backups are on schedule.
  • Establish accounts for new users and assist with password or login problems, disable accounts for terminated employees. Provide local file sharing for each office as required.
  • Maintain computer equipment and accessories in an organized manner.
  • Manage disaster plan, shutdown, and startup procedures for all offices.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Expertise with Microsoft Windows and MAC operating systems.
  • Expertise with a variety of application software, hardware, and peripherals (e.g., monitors, printers, scanners).
  • Experience with network routers, switches, and IP phone systems.
  • Understanding of basic electrical wiring and components such as power supplies, relays, signal conditioners, etc.
  • Willingness to solve complex problems and see projects through to completion.
  • Experience with hardware repair and assembly.
  • Team-oriented attitude and skill working with others to solve technical problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Uncompromised integrity and candor given access to business confidential information systems.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of IT experience.
  • 4 year accredited college degree in science, technology or engineering.

Other Requirements:

  • Days of work are Monday through Friday, with hybrid arrangement possibility after period of performance with exemplary achievement. Hours of work are typically between 8:30 a – 5 p, or as approved by supervisor. This position periodically requires additional hours beyond a 40-hour work week.
  • Growth path potential towards IT Manager.
  • Minimal to no travel.
