Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Monitors and evaluates the workplace to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and related regulations. Plans, develops, administers, and manages organization safety policies, workers compensation, programs and training. Responsible for monitoring hazardous waste control and disposal activities including training, collection, disposal, and records maintenance and for conservation programs within the organization.
Location: 1600 Hunter Rd, Hanover Park, IL 60133
Hours: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM CT - Fully Onsite
Key Responsibilites
* Develop and implement policies and practices to identify and mitigate hazardous conditions.
* Development and administration of policies and programs to ensure facility follows OSHA, EPA, DOT and other safety and health requirements.
* Develop and deploy Safety and Environmental Health policies and drive best practices to achieve world class levels of safety.
* Partner with Third Party Administrator workers compensation to maintain/report work related injuries
* Attend workers compensation claims review
* Maintain OSHA Data reports and logs
* Provide direction on safety and protection of Insight Teammates and property.
* Perform routine audits to ensure that organization and government standards on Safety and Environmental Health are met.
* Conduct or oversee training for personnel on safety and health issues.
* Monitor and control hazardous waste storage and disposal activities.
* Partner with our leadership and security teams in review of safety best practices.
* Track and report on performance KPI metrics according to Insight's aspirations to be a world class Systems Integrator.
* Travel to required locations as needed
What you'll need to succeed
* At least 7 years of related safety experience
* Bachelor's degree in safety and health or related field.
* BCSP Certification a plus (ASP, CSP or OHST) or desire to achieve certification.
* Knowledgeable of safety and health laws and regulations
* Able to provide detailed reports and develop safety programs/procedures (experience in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Must be proficient.
* Demonstrated ability to develop successful EH&S policies and procedures.
* Ability to conduct root cause analysis.
* Ability to develop and lead successful EH&S teams to drive business results.
* Self-motivated - able to work independently and prioritize work tasks.
