JOB SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Controller, the Accounting Intern assists the accounting department with various financial projects. The purpose of this internship is to prepare college students for entry into the business world by providing them a thorough understanding of accounting functions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support Accounting Staff
? Research tax information and law for current accounting Projects
? Assisting controller in completing and designing Financial Reporting
? Calculating Financial Ratio’s and compare to Industry Standards
? Other financial projects that arise during tenure
2. Clerical/General Administrative
? Respond to routine emails, phone calls, etc.
? Make copies, print documents, etc.
? File paperwork
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working Hours/Environment
? Hours may vary depending on internship needs; Standard office hours average 40 per week from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
? Work typically performed in an indoor office setting.
Tools and Equipment Used
? Personal computer, copier, fax/scanner, phone, and other typical office equipment
Travel
? No Travel Required
Physical & Mental Demands
? Frequently required to sit at a desk/workstation for long period of time.
? Ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods of time.
? Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment
? Light lifting and carrying of supplies, files, etc.
? Ability to speak to and hear employees/clients via phone or in person.
? Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move around an office environment.
? Additional Mental Requirements: compare, decide, direct, problem solve, analyze, instruct, interpret
