Job Details Job Location 9:30 Club - Washington, DC Position Type Part Time Description Crowd Management Personnel (CMP) serve as the first point of contact for guests as they are entering the venue as well as their entire time while in our venues. CMPs are responsible for the overall safety and security of guests and performing artists as well as ensuring the rules of the venue or event are adhered to. The position requires a positive demeanor, a professional presence and strong communication skills. CMPs are reliable and trustworthy, able and willing to understand and execute the responsibilities of the position, arrive on time and work their entire shift. CMPs must have the ability to maintain a high level of customer service while ensuring a positive guest experience while preventing and de-escalating acts of misconduct and/or serious incidents. Responsibilities:
Maintain great customer service when interacting with guests at all times
Monitor and secure assigned areas of responsibility
Examine tickets, passes and identification cards to determine authenticity
Monitor crowd behavior and be preemptive to intervene as necessary
Lead efforts to de-escalate inappropriate behaviors
Monitor venue and entrances to ensure only authorized personnel and authorized talent access
Ensure all guests follow entry screening process
Effectively communicate with shift supervisors and other CMPs
Fulfill duties that are a part of the venues security plan
Perform other duties as assigned (restock bathrooms, take out trash, set up venue, etc)
Qualifications To be successful this position, you must have:
Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time
Ability to work various shifts, weekends, possibly holidays
Ability to work nights (often past Metro train closing time)
Ability to work well in a group and independently
Ability to be proactive about the needs of guests and the venue
Reliability to meet shift commitments
Past experience attending or working concerts is helpful
Flexible scheduling averaging 2 to 4 nights a week
