Overview

GEODIS is one of the world's largest Supply Chain Leaders

The position is part of the onsite logistics at a GEODIS customer location.

This position executes day-to-day operations of cross-dock processes: Goods unloaded, sorted and segregated by asset, received and or logged, appropriately labeled stored at PMF, or shipped and loaded in cargo carrying units - “CCU”. The position must ensure and provide internal and external depts with the necessary paperwork for Freight identification) to asset and/ or moved to PMF holding location for further disposition (short-term, long-term storage. The receiving includes SAP Good receipt (GR) inbound documentation for the PMF against purchase order in SAP). Receiving may also include recording items without Material master or direct purchasing (No PO or MO) Ie Amazon, service. This may include creating delivery notes and systemic movement from stock location 3000 to 2000 when shipping offshore. The position also executes value-added services such as repacking and or measuring when required for some products. The ultimate goal is to receive goods accurately and timely to assure the PMF can deliver the right product, quantity, on time and place.

Key Responsibilities

It may be required to be occasionally repackaged based on predetermined distribution instructions.

  • Enable a working environment that assures the Health and Safety (H&S) of workers in the Cross Dock area, including identification and management of occupational risk.
  • Executes cross-dock warehouse policies and procedures and work to improve efficiency and productivity under the direction of the Cross-dock lead.
  • Executes cross-dock warehouse operations, including priority setting, inspection, documentation, outbound / loading truck schedule, and temporary storage in the area.
  • Support the Performance tasks to ensure the products can be received to the cross-dock warehouse (e.g., assign dock to a truck, check transport documents (where applicable) Unload when needed, determine location for segregation, labels according by asset)
  • Perform 3-way match, Packing slip to SAP to product & PO.
  • Create inbound quarantine resolutions: (inbound cannot be received missing paperwork, information, cannot complete 3-way matched discrepancies, No PO, no Item number, Over- and under delivery quantity, missing box) will create inbound complaint/issue registration103, follow up weekly)
  • Uncrate and recrate pallets, unbox and repackage of material as needed.
  • Check all pressure container load bearing material: PN, heat code for metal parts as required on all pressure container load bearing material.
  • Check specification for Motors and frames; Ie Horsepower is correct.
  • Performs SAP goods receipt or list material on receipt log (NO PO orders)
  • Create outbound load sheets and create delivery advice notes for all outbound shipments from Cross dock release documents to Logistics Coordinator
  • Support Pulling CCU from yard outbound loading.
  • Print out load sheet, recheck material to be loaded against manifest/ check list. load out and load CCU, then, take picture, sticker container, weight container, complete document load check list and support release from system, Physical transfer documents and needed information to Logistics Coordinator to await pickup vehicle.
  • Create hazardous material documentation for material being shipped (highway transportation documents). also create HazMat manifest. Provides copy of document to Logistics Coordinator.
  • Operate a forklift when needed.
  • For Load bearing or pressure containing check QC certification proper paperwork match freight delivered material, Measure nuts bolt assure size,
  • Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department or employee concerns.
  • Assure lean work area and housekeeping of cross dock space.
  • Support analysis of client and supply problems resolution by conducting root cause and corrective actions. Creates recommendation for systemic inbound issues resolution.
  • Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department or employee concerns.
  • Act as back up for Cross Dock Operations /Amazon tech and is cross-trained in all the functions performed under that Job description.

Other Task

  • Attending training on subjects of ISO, safety, business controls, etc. and cascade to your team.
  • Communicate with employees and other department supervisors and managers on a regular basis.
  • Contribute to other company internal projects

Experience, Education , Certifications

  • Has expert theoretical knowledge of distribution concepts as well as knowledge of best practices in the area of warehousing.
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management systems & processes MS Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, Word, Excel,
  • 5 years’ experience as a supervisor or relevant role in Warehousing and/or Manufacturing area

  • Planning and Scheduling
  • Hazardous material certification

Skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,532.42 - $51,221.84 per year
