About Mobile Shower and Hygiene Response Team: We provide showers, hygiene products, and clothing to neighbors throughout East Portland, creating welcoming and inclusive environments for all to receive these services. This program builds community, restores dignity, renews hope, and creates opportunity through supportive relationships and radical hospitality.

Compensation/Benefits:

• Full-time, non-exempt position starting at $24 hourly
• 100% employer-paid medical, vision, and dental premiums

Accountability:

• Accountable to MSHR Manager
• Works laterally with MSHR Operations Coordinator

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Understand & operate vehicles
• Maintain positive relationships with site hosts
• Supervise and assist apprentices during on-site operations, including training, communication & conflict resolution, and professional support
• Engage and build relationships with neighbors who are unhoused and determine actual needs
• Provide hygiene services and supplies to neighbors at shower sites
• Coordinate and assist in set-up, tear-down, and cleaning of shower truck operations
• Enforce safety policies and procedures
• Manage administrative aspects of program, including but not limited to check-in forms, incident reports, and reimbursements
• Work with MSHR Operations Coordinator to maintain inventory of products necessary for the program’s success
• Perform basic upkeep of truck(s) and communicate needs to maintenance support
• Represent Cultivate Initiatives to various partners and community members
• Participate in meetings and trainings
• May perform other duties as requested by supervisor
• May participate in special projects and activities

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 30 lbs, climb stairs, bend, stoop, push and pull, and spend periods more than 4 hours standing.

Requirements:

• Be physically present in the CI offices and on site from 8:30AM - 4:30PM on assigned days, including the 8:30am brief and 4:15pm debrief, unless otherwise approved by supervisor
• Must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination
• Must be able to provide proof of Driver’s License, and be able to drive large trucks
• Ability to pass a post-employment drug screen
