Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona is Hiring a Mobile Distribution Coordinator Near Willcox, AZ

Function: The Mobile Distribution Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the Community Food Bank’s (CFB’s) Mobile Distribution Food Program. This position would be expected to travel and work across CFB’s 5-county service area and with a broad network of community partners coordinating food distribution, training, and support for volunteers, ensuring program compliance, and promoting food security programs to eligible populations. This position oversees a volunteer team and works with multiple internal departments to accomplish food deliveries to the CFB service areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers with respect to emergency food box distribution, inventory, and reporting requirements to support the mobile food program functions.
  • Maintains the work schedule for volunteers and reports hours worked to the volunteer services team.
  • Ensures compliance with government program requirements and grant restrictions at all mobile sites.
  • Monitors incoming and outbound shipments for product quality and safety, following company policy and program policy. Conducts product quality inspections.
  • Unloads and load trucks as needed using standard warehouse power equipment, including electric pallet jack and forklift. Operates forklift, stand up lift, and electric pallet jack and performs daily tasks in compliance with CFB safety practices. Verifies all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure accuracy of loads.
  • Responsible for accessing, understanding, and following documented procedures in the Food Safety Written Program. Identify and report any safety risk or safety incidents, including product damage, to your supervisor.
  • Supports program outreach to identify and onboard new partners in underserved areas in alignment with organizational and network goals.
  • Collaborates with other program staff and partner agencies to coordinate nutritional workshops and activities for mobile distribution sites.
  • Appropriately tracks and maintains the mobile distribution caseload, distribution infrastructure, and inventory. Expected to travel across CFB’s five-county service area.
  • Coordinates with CFB Operations departments for efficient program operations congruent with organizational resources.
  • Coordinates Civil Rights and other technical training and development of volunteers and partner agencies to deepen the understanding of the hunger relief programs’ intent and to encourage a dignified client experience.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge in supporting outreach programs to identify and onboard new partners.
  • Skills in recruiting, training and overseeing volunteers, to include maintaining the volunteers work schedule.
  • Ability to collaborate with program staff and agencies for workshops and activities.
  • Ability to track and maintain data including inventory information for a program.
  • Ability to obtain food handling certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to become forklift and other warehouse power equipment certified within 60 days of employment.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and listening skills.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse economic, social, and political backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in a fast-paced, complex work environment demonstrating organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, and aptitude to learn other software platforms.
  • For company insurance purposes, at least 21 years of age; possess a current Arizona Driver’s License with a safe driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of experience in a fast-paced, complex work environment demonstrating organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Physical Requirements:

  • Medium Work ability to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
