We are looking for a Shipping Manager/Expeditor. This person will be Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper manning in order to ship and receive products in a productive and cost-efficient manner

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper manning in order to ship and receive products in a productive and cost-efficient manner
  • Direct the day-to day activities of the warehouse. Such activities include shipping, receiving, inventory control, scheduling company drivers etc.
  • Responsible for the warehouse as it pertains to receiving errors, and staging of products
  • Ensure that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment in order to perform the distribution functions
  • Ensure all associates are trained and following all standard operating procedures
  • Responsible for the progressive disciplinary process in the area of counseling, oral and written warnings
  • Handle general employee inquiries and solves issues
  • Monitor the flow of paperwork from Receiving
  • Resolve discrepancies with shipping, invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports
  • Ensure products are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures,
  • Perform daily procedures for receiving, inspecting, filling, and releasing purchased items for productions jobs
  • Responsible for scheduling the team and training.
  • Cleary communicates expectations to employees daily
  • Effectively manage project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved
  • Completes assigned work efficiently and in an organized manner within an established period, works to complete objectives and sees a task through the end while taking into considerations current responsibilities and workload.
  • Understands and follows all company process and systems.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Generates ideas and initiates action to seek information to solve problems or follow through with a task, self-starter.
  • Must comply with the company attendance and punctuality policy arriving to work every day on time leading by example.
  • Must hold employees accountable for attendance, missed punches, and for violation of meal breaks..
  • Must attend mandatory meetings when required
  • Orderly and safely stacking of product on pallets.
  • Verify inbound/outbound manifest, ensuring that all product is correctly counted.
  • Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all equipment.
  • Ensure work schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and report in a timely fashion.
  • Receives and records new inventory as it is delivered; inspects and stores it according to policy.
  • Conducts physical inventory, compares results to computerized inventory, and reconciles any differences.
  • Ensures that all stock is stored in correct locations in the warehouse.
  • Transfers inventory to trucks for delivery in a timely manner and according to schedule.
  • Schedules materials being transferred from warehouse, coordinates transfer of inventory between departments.

Job Requirements

Must be able to write clearly and informatively and be able to read and interpret written information.

Must be able to balance team and individual responsibilities;

Must be a problem solver- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.

Must be able to communicate clearly with staff; keeps others informed and listens to input.

Proficient in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment

Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including inventory control and process improvement techniques

Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 70 pounds) and perform physical tasks as required

Physical Demands:

The duties of this job will require the employee to frequently stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds (over 50 lbs requires team lift or by using mechanical means). Frequently use copier, scanner, phone, and computer equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, occasionally exposed to outside/inside cold or heat weather conditions; The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
