BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to provide customer service and assistance to citizens and other departments regarding water utilities. This is accomplished by answering the phone or assisting walk in customers, referring customers to other departments or areas, and recording and processing payments. Other duties include dispatching calls.

Pre-employment keyboarding test (typing speed) minimum score is 30 wpm.

1 L Regular and reliable attendance in compliance with given schedules is a mandatory requirement of this position. Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice
2 S Answers the phone and provides counter assistance by answering questions and providing information, researching billings or other data, taking payments for services, processing the information and printing receipts, and entering required data into electronic systems.
3 S Sets up and schedules service terminations by creating new accounts and service orders, updating customer accounts, taking payment arrangements and processing termination requests and cutoff processes.
4 S Processes information and/or monies received by entering information into the computer, posting transactions, verifying monies received.
