ROLE SUMMARY

The position of the Loan Administrator is responsible for preparing, tracking, processing SFR, MFR and Commercial loans in addition to documenting and funding loan transactions. This position ensures loans are closed accurately and in accordance with bank guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Creates loan file and sorts documents according to established checklist.
  • Orders appraisals, property profile, flood certificate, and any reports required by Loan Policy to perfect CFB real estate collateral interest.
  • Orders escrow and preliminary title report from title company.
  • Requests and Reviews insurance information. 
  • Prepares loan documents according to approval and within Policy and Guidelines.
  • Monitors receipt of documents and follows up with necessary parties to ensure documents are received in a timely manner. Reviews completed loan documents and initiates corrections, as requested by Supervisor.
  • Monitors loan documents as they are returned and assembles documents necessary for processing.
  • Responds to questions from borrowers and follows up with them as necessary.
  • Analyze loan amounts, taxes, hazard insurance, principal, and interest payments, and coordinate the finalization of closing funding package including HUD Settlement Statement.
  • Work with Title Companies and Escrows to ensure turnaround times are met.
  • Ensure satisfaction of all closing conditions prior to funding.
  • Assembles loan documents for delivery to settlement agent for closing.
  • Answers questions regarding closing requirements.
  • Calls Settlement agent, Title Company, and other specified individuals to reaffirm funding date, to provide funding figures and confirm closing. 
  • Keeps in constant communication with escrow, title, and loan agents regarding loan-funding status.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required Education/Experience:

  • Associates degree in finance, business, real estate or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in banking/financial services working with loan closings of commercial real estate transactions.
  • Experience with preparing loan documents in LaserPro.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, business, real estate or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in banking/financial services working with loan closings of commercial lines of credit and commercial real estate transactions, construction loans and SBA loans.
  • Experience with Horizon and Abrigo.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
  • Provide professional, high-quality service to the Bank’s loan customers through timely documentation and closing of loan approvals.
  • Communicate in a timely manner with all parties in the lending transaction regarding issues that arise. 
  • Ability to multi-task. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial loan documentation, collateral perfection processes, organizational structures and regulations that govern lending functions.

  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-starter with high attention to problem solving and attention to details.
