Columbia Gear is Hiring a Material Handler/Forklift Operator- 4th shift Near Avon, MN

Summary

Under the supervision of the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Material Handler will operate the forklift to move a variety of raw materials and machined parts between departments and outside to inside. Change batteries or LP gas tanks. Report any maintenance problems with the forklift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

1. Have previous experience driving forklifts.

2. Capable of physically operating forklifts.

3. Drive in a safe and efficient manner.

4. Put empty containers in their proper place.

5. Provide effective service to the customers.

6. Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Minimum of a High School Education.

Language Skills - Ability to read and understand documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write standard documentation. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
