Job Title: Building and Construction Intern

Background
Charles Taylor Engineering Technical Services delivers a wide range of expertise, including architectural, civil engineering, structural engineering, construction management, building envelope repair, performance testing, forensic analyses, and litigation support. The firm works primarily with clients in the construction, legal and insurance sectors, specializing in in re-design of properties, forensic engineering, and construction management. Our Engineering and Construction Practice puts our knowledge and expertise to work primarily on insurance and building projects, working with project owners, designers, contractors, and insurance adjusters in evaluation, design, testing, analysis, site inspections, and report writing. Work may be local or national in the North American market and occasional travel out of the area is likely. Project size and complexity varies.
We are currently seeking an Architectural or Structural Engineering Intern to join our team of talented professionals in our Golden, CO office.
Your Responsibilities
Assist the department with:
- Field measurements, field checks, documentation and/or topographic data collection.
- Drafting of field observations.
- Drawing review.
- Design of small-scale building and site repairs.
- Assist with preparation of technical specifications and reports.
- Construction observations.
Job Requirements
- Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Maturity and excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Current undergraduate student working towards a Bachelor of Science or Technical degree
Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related curriculum.
- Must be flexible with schedule.
- Must be willing to work outside in good and inclement weather.
- Great organization and prioritization abilities
- Good driving record and valid driver’s license
