Job Summary:
The restaurant expo serves as the liaison between the kitchen staff and the serving staff, ensuring that all orders are prepared accurately and delivered to guests in a timely manner. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Order Coordination:
• Receive orders from servers and communicate them accurately to the kitchen staff.
• Ensure that all special requests or modifications to orders are clearly communicated to the kitchen.
• Quality Control:
• Inspect all dishes before they leave the kitchen to ensure they meet the restaurant's quality standards.
• Verify that each dish matches the corresponding order ticket.
• Timing Management:
• Coordinate the timing of dishes to ensure that they are ready to be served together for each table.
• Monitor the progress of orders in the kitchen and adjust timing as needed to prevent delays.
• Final Presentation:
• Garnish and plate dishes as necessary to ensure they are presented attractively to guests.
• Verify that each dish is complete with all necessary accompaniments before it leaves the kitchen.
• Communication:
• Maintain clear and open communication with both kitchen staff and serving staff to facilitate efficient operations.
• Relay any special requests, dietary restrictions, or guest feedback to the appropriate team members.
• Problem Solving:
• Address any issues or discrepancies with orders in a prompt and professional manner.
• Resolve any conflicts between kitchen and serving staff regarding order accuracy or timing.
• Cleanliness and Organization:
• Keep expo station clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Assist with basic kitchen tasks during downtime, such as dishwashing or food prep.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a restaurant or food service environment preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods and move quickly between kitchen and serving areas.
• Lift and carry trays of food and dishes weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Work in a hot and noisy environment with exposure to kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals.
