Beyer Blinder Belle Architects and Planners LLP is Hiring a Senior Project Manager- Studio B (Cultural, Institutional, and Higher Education) Near New York, NY

BBB is hiring an enthusiastic Sr. Project Manager to join its Cultural, Institutional, and Higher Education studio in our NYC office. In addition to working locally with a broad and diverse group of professionals at all stages of career development, new hires will collaborate virtually with BBB design professionals in the Boston and Washington DC offices. All BBB employees, including new hires, can participate in staff initiatives that advance professional skills, connect staff outside the realm of project work, and promote values of environmental and social well-being.
I. Role
Our ideal candidate is excited to work on complex projects on high-profile historic and existing buildings and with major cultural and higher education clients in the NYC area and New England. We are looking for someone who can shepherd large institutional clients through complex decision-making through clear analysis and presentation skills, brings a strong design sense with technical grounding, actively seeks to develop innovative concepts, and manages teams at the highest level to work collaboratively. This individual will coordinate all administrative and technical project efforts to ensure effective execution and serve as the primary client liaison to complete projects on schedule, within budget, to BBB's high standards, and with maximum client satisfaction.
II. Responsibilities
•Serve as the primary client liaison to bring the project to successful completion, including managing the project schedule, budgets, contracts, and invoicing.
•Prepare presentations and present the project to the client, commissions, boards, etc.
•Work with project architects and designers to establish a timeframe for design decisions.
•Estimate fees, determine the scope of services, and prepare proposals and contracts on multiple projects and/or a large, complex project.
•Manage project staffing: Ensure the design team has adequate resources to complete their tasks and effectively delegate assignments to ensure an equitable balance of work suited to each team member's core strengths.
III. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
•15 years of managing projects for existing and historic buildings with cultural, institutional, and higher education clients.
•Proficient in presentation, contract documentation, management, and Communication software.
•Working proficiency in Revit.
•Demonstrated experience presenting projects to stakeholder groups.
•Fluent in technical aspects of the project. Understands and can predict workflow best to assign appropriate resources for each phase of the project.
This is a full-time position with excellent benefits and growth potential. We currently offer remote work on Fridays and twenty-four additional work-from-home days a year. The salary is commensurate with experience and ability, ranging between $140,000 and $160,000 per annum, excluding bonuses and other benefits.
