Job Summary

Altumint is seeking a Field Technician to join our growing team in the Chesapeake, Virginia location. This Field Technician, will be an integral part of the Altumint Operations Team. The person will work directly for the Director of Operations and will spend much of the workday outside servicing, repairing, and/or troubleshooting automated enforcement equipment. The candidate will work on both AC and DC circuit assemblies, proprietary automated computer-controlled equipment, and support other mechanical and electrical repairs as required. The candidate will also be expected to troubleshoot and document their work. Field service. technician. wireless field technician. install technician. installation. network installation. voltage. Troubleshoot. Electronics. Installing. Telecommunication. Cable. cell tower. low voltage. electromechanical. Electrical. Mechanical. hand tools. maintenance technician. install. wiring. AC/DC. Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in similar technical service position 
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in Automation, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study is preferred.
  • Proficient experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel).
  • Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to repair AC and DC circuit assemblies and components.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying ideas concisely.

Preferred:

  • Experience with electrical component assembly. 
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Experience with diagnostic testing tools. 
  • Knowledge of network communications.

  • Interpret and understand electrical wiring diagrams and schematics to facilitate accurate and efficient problem resolution. 
  • Manage local inventory to ensure availability of necessary components for timely repairs and maintenance. 
  • Utilize your proficiency in Linux and Windows Operating Systems to address technical challenges. 
  • Demonstrate innovative problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail in all tasks. 
  • Efficiently communicate ideas and solutions to team members and clients
