Small Podiatry office seeking a full-time Billing Specialist to join our team. We are looking for an energetic and optimistic candidate with strong problem-solving skills to support our day-to-day operations, and assisting other staff as needed.
Responsibilities
Assist with answering phones in a friendly and professional manner, scheduling
patient appointments and collecting payments
Verify patient insurance eligibility, network status, and benefits
Review and analyze medical documentation to ensure accurate coding and billing
Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT) to diagnoses and procedures
Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement
Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff to ensure proper documentation and
billing practices
Stay updated on industry regulations and changes in medical coding and billing practices
Record patient and insurance payments and update patient balances
Ensure that claims, denials, rejections, and appeals are efficiently processed.
Post payments and Review Explanation of Benefits
Generate monthly A/R reports and generate patient statements
Address patient and insurance inquiries related to billing.
Resolve insurance claim rejections and denials
Requirements
3 Years of medical billing and coding experience
Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
Understanding of patient accounts and balances
In-depth understanding of health insurance benefits, claims, and payments
Must have the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Outstanding problem-solving and organizational abilities.
Willingness to learn
